REFOCUS Board and Staff endeavours to provide support to our community in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions. We are focused in promoting early intervention services and in encouraging our staff to keep up-to-date with recent training developments and wellbeing.

Having now firmly established ourselves as the bearers of the highest standards in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultural practices, we continue to see new opportunities for growth- professionally, personally and business wise. Being professional cultural practitioners and case managers, our values and principles are the core to our practice. The compelling combination of our values and principles as reflected in our Strategic Plan, Relationships and Commitment to our business, place us in a strong position to seize these opportunities for creating further growth and development for the Service, Our Children, Our Families and the North Coast Community.

REFOCUS Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander service was founded in 2010 by a team who had a vision for a more inclusive Family and Child Protection Support agency for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. REFOCUS aspires to a community where everyone is valued and enjoys the opportunity to achieve their goals and dreams without being connected to the child protection sector and are strengthened and supported by the whole of community in a natural approach to empower change and ensure everyone has the ability to become the truest expression of themselves.

  •  support the education, wellbeing and safety of children
  • empower parents to reach their full potential
  • empower victims of family violence and influence perpetrator behaviour
  • assist families who are at risk of homelessness
  • ssist people experiencing financial stress and provide practical solutions and budgeting plans to through the wellbeing hub
  • advocate on issues of social importance around child protection and family wellbeing

We greatly value the support of the community in helping REFOCUS to achieve supporting families in a holistic approach through an array of service delivery approaches based on genuine family and community practise that lead to the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families/ individuals culture and community structures and networks. Please get in touch if you would like to support REFOCUS through collaboration or to join our team to Redirect and Empower through Opportunities in Culturally Unique Services.

I am a Certified Practicing Accounting (CPA) with over 16 years’ experience in the Accounting industry. I have a variety of experience in Public practice as well as commercial accounting and I currently run my own Accounting Practice.   As a board member I provide expert advice in the financial arena and manage the financial aspects of the organisation.

Growing up my Grandmother fostered hundreds of children, this was where my passion for child protection started. We often lived with my Grandmother and I would help her with the kids she would have in her care for long or short periods of time. As I grew, I could see the intense need for support services for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids and families, as a mother of three beautiful Australian, Aboriginal and Samoan children I understand the importance of family and culture.  REFOCUS provided me an opportunity to play a small part in empowering families and I am so proud of what REFOCUS has achieved so far.

I am so honored to be a part of this organisation, to see the intense drive and hard work that goes into providing the programs to our families shows REFOCUS is making a difference in the lives of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities and we will keep striving to reach more children and families and providing better services as we grow.
