REFOCUS Board and Staff endeavours to provide support to our community in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions. We are focused in promoting early intervention services and in encouraging our staff to keep up-to-date with recent training developments and wellbeing.

Having now firmly established ourselves as the bearers of the highest standards in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultural practices, we continue to see new opportunities for growth- professionally, personally and business wise. Being professional cultural practitioners and case managers, our values and principles are the core to our practice. The compelling combination of our values and principles as reflected in our Strategic Plan, Relationships and Commitment to our business, place us in a strong position to seize these opportunities for creating further growth and development for the Service, Our Children, Our Families and the North Coast Community.

REFOCUS Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander service was founded in 2010 by a team who had a vision for a more inclusive Family and Child Protection Support agency for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. REFOCUS aspires to a community where everyone is valued and enjoys the opportunity to achieve their goals and dreams without being connected to the child protection sector and are strengthened and supported by the whole of community in a natural approach to empower change and ensure everyone has the ability to become the truest expression of themselves.

REFOCUS is a vibrant community service organisation that engages with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children, families, couples and individuals with Children under the age of 18 in their care in an array of topics such as:

  • empower to build better family and couple relationships
  •  support the education, wellbeing and safety of children
  • empower parents to reach their full potential
  • empower victims of family violence and influence perpetrator behaviour
  • assist families who are at risk of homelessness
  • ssist people experiencing financial stress and provide practical solutions and budgeting plans to through the wellbeing hub
  • advocate on issues of social importance around child protection and family wellbeing

We greatly value the support of the community in helping REFOCUS to achieve supporting families in a holistic approach through an array of service delivery approaches based on genuine family and community practise that lead to the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families/ individuals culture and community structures and networks.
